
Vendor Spotlight: Gomez Veggie Ville
Gomez Veggie Ville is not only a staple at the Saratoga Farmers’ Market, it’s a weekly stop for many shoppers picking up their fresh produce essentials. Their tables are filled with seasonal finds year-round. So many in our community rely on them to help keep local eating a priority in every season.
From vibrant seasonal vegetables to everyday staples, Gomez Veggie Ville makes it easy to shop fresh and shop local all year long.
We recently had a Q & A exchange with Valentina from Gomez Veggie Ville for a little conversation about them and what it means to be part of the market community.
What can shoppers expect throughout the winter season at your tables?
We have a nice variety of winter crop vegetables available. Shoppers will find potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter squash, butternut, onions , garlic, parsnips and Brussels sprouts. We also have greens that are grown in the greenhouse including baby lettuce, lettuce mix, spinach and arugula. Shoppers can also purchase bunched greens and kale.
What is your favorite element about being part of the Saratoga Farmers’ Market?
We enjoy bringing locally grown veggies to Saratoga and helping introduce a diversity of different veggies that they can enjoy. Also, we love interfacing with the local vendors and the community.
How many years have you been at the winter market?
We have been at the market year round for over 18 years!
Do you participate in the outdoor market?
Absolutely, we are a year round vendor.
Tell us some of your favorite dishes?
We enjoy using products that we grow at our farm and that we get at the market to prepare a diversity of different dishes all using locally grown products from the market based on what is seasonably available.
