Power of Produce (POP) Club for kids! (3-6 PM)
Children will receive $4 in POP Coins to purchase fruit and vegetables at the farmers’ market, and they will earn their sixth stamp in their POP Passport (every 4 stamps = a prize!). All thanks to the support of the Christopher Dailey Foundation.
Week 8: Growing Around the World
Explore, plant, discover, and taste your way through POP Club as kids visit a Nigerian marketplace, plant something to grow at home, investigate the natural world, and take two juicy bites of locally grown peaches!
Activity #1: Visit a Nigerian Marketplace
Travel the world without leaving the market! Join the World Awareness Children’s Museum for a hands-on exploration of a Nigerian marketplace, where children can discover the sights, traditions, and culture of everyday market life in Nigeria through interactive play.
Activity #2: Plant, Grow & Discover!
Get your hands in the soil with the Children’s Museum at Saratoga! Kids can plant a seed to take home, then nurture it with sunshine, water, and care as they watch it grow.
Activity #3: Nature Detectives
Get hands-on with nature! Join Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Master Gardeners for a fun, interactive activity where kids can explore the natural world, discover fascinating plants and insects, and learn how gardens help support pollinators and local wildlife. Perfect for curious minds of all ages and abilities!
Activity #4: 2-Bites Club: Perfectly Peachy
Take two juicy bites of summer! Kids can taste fresh, locally grown peaches while discovering how this sweet seasonal favorite grows from blossom to fruit.

Kate Blain
Folk musician Kate Blain has been part of the upstate New York music scene for 25 years and will release her third album later in 2026. She has performed in musicals, appeared on area radio and TV stations and brought her brand of acoustic folk to 150 venues in New York and New England. In New York’s Capital Region, she’s known as a host of open mics at Caffe Lena in Saratoga, at Old Songs in Voorheesville/the annual Old Songs Festival in Altamont, and at the Eighth Step at Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady. The Saratoga Farmers’ Market has called Kate “just plain beautiful to listen to — a Judy Collins and Linda Ronstadt rolled into one” who “wowed us all and then shared the mic with a smiling child for a duet. We are so grateful she keeps coming back.”

Cornell Cooperative Extension: Master Gardeners
The Saratoga County Master Gardeners are passionate local volunteers who share research-based gardening knowledge with the community. From diagnosing plant and soil problems to offering seasonal gardening advice, they help local gardens thrive — and they also accept soil samples for testing to help gardeners better understand and improve their soil.
The Master Gardener Table will also have nature-themed activities as a part of POP Club!
