What can shoppers expect throughout the winter season at your table?
This holiday season I launched my fresh cut cheese plates, canola oil-free cheese dips and chocolate items like bark and dark chocolate dipped dates. I’m also working on some new savory cracker flavors and I have the old favorites too – fresh baked granola, and glazed nut mixes. My schedule at the market will be alternating weekends from now until summer but items can be pre-ordered for free pickup on my website.
What is your favorite element in regards to being part of the Saratoga Farmers’ Market?
The market is a really powerful community of vendors, our families and the customers. I think especially in the winter it’s a really special place to spend some time outside of the house to meet people. My son loves coming to visit me and seeing my regulars and the other vendors’ children. I will take that over screen time at home any day! Bonus that there is always delicious food to be found!
How many years have you been at the winter market?
Last year was my first winter market and it was such a great way to build my business – I had only started out 6 months before and the feedback from other vendors, customers and market managers was instrumental in my expansion and shaping what I want this business to be.
Do you participate in the summer market?
I do! This year may look a little different and I’m still working it out but I will definitely be at the Wednesday markets (alternating weeks at the very least) – I love the Wednesday markets because we have a great selection of vendors but it’s small enough that customers can linger.
Share something with shoppers they don’t know about you?
Most people don’t realize that I did not cook in any professional capacity before I started this business 2 years ago – I had only worked in news media and game shows for 15 years before that! You’ll have to come to my table to hear the story.
