Saturday May 3 we opened our outdoor season for 2008. The High Rock Pavillions were in great shape (thank you Skip). On hand for our opening were Asst. Ag Commissioner of NYS Ag and Markets, Mr. Bennett, Director of CCE Saratoga County, Bill Schwerd and of course the Mayor of Saratoga, Scott Johnson and Public Works Commissioner, Skip Sirocco. The weather was a bit cool. but the spirits were warm and the enthusiasm contagious. There was plenty of coffee, tea and hot chocolate to help warm the fingers. We had close to 25 vendors open and selling wonderful fresh and local product. Included in the 25 were some new vendors: Battenkill Creamery, selling hormone free fresh cow’s milk (even chocolate), Argyle Cheese with their incredible yogurts and cheese curds. As the season continues and temps warm we will be seeing more and more vendors return to an eventual peak of 45! Keep looking at our events calendar as we are planning lots of special days in the markets to come. See you Wednesdays 3-6 as well as Saturdays 9-1. Live music starts next Saturday! We are up and rolling (growing)!
